This access point is dedicated only to your guests and does not interfere with the access point where all your other home devices are connected. What’s more interesting is that even if a malware manages to finds its way into your friend’s phone, it’s contamination is restricted to the devices connected to the guest wifi services network and not yours.

simple and you don’t have to be tech savvy or have technical skills to do it.
You also don’t need to grab extra cables or wonder if you have to pay twice the
price for your internet connection. Most Wi-Fi routers allow you to set up a
guest network in a few simple steps.

Fetch the manual of your router and find its IP address.
Paste the IP address on the URL bar of your browser and hit enter.
On the new dialogue box that opens, enter the required details like the administrator password and username. If you’re unsure of this, you will be able to find the details in the manual or with your internet service provider.
Once done with the previous step, you will be taken to the router settings page. Here, you will have to look for something like Guest network or allow guests. If you can’t find it, look at advanced settings or under hidden dropdown boxes. While most modern routers come with this feature built by default, older routers may not have this option. If you use an old router, we recommend upgrading to a new one to set up best wireless access points for different users.
With modern routers, you will be allowed to name your guest network access point once you’ve checked the box. It’s usually a good practice to add the word guest as a suffix to your home network so it’s easier for your friends and family to find out and connect.
The wireless internet access for your guests becomes immediately activated. However, it is essential now to configure your arrangement.
Firstly, you need to set up a password for your guest network. If you don’t do so, it becomes an open network, where anyone can connect to it. Once you set the password, only those with the password can access the network.
In the encryption or security settings, select a WPA2-based connection. These are secure connection establishment protocols, where data sent and received over your network cannot be tracked or intercepted.
Also, disable the option that allows guests to access your local files and folders if you see one. You only want to give your guest access to your internet and not your local network.
Next, clear off the box that allows guest’s access to your router or internet settings. This is to avoid any changes or modifications to your home network. You don’t want to get kicked out of your own network, do you?
