Speed is defined by the total number of Mbps that would be used by a group or an application or both. While the priority is defined as High, Medium and Low, based on what you think is the most suitable for the created groups like Executives, Mid-levels and Workers or Parents, Kids and/or applications like Teams, PubG, YouTube, Zoom, Instagram, etc.
The admin can assign a speed or priority of the internet to the Sales Team (on field employees), HR team (for basic office tasks) and researchers (gathering relevant information for company growth). The time when we did have to go to work and children to school, we knew the peak traffic hours, but right here, we are referring to the internet traffic hours. This would be true in pre-Covid times when that was the time most of us would go for a stroll or a tea/cigarette break.
The most amount of internet traffic is currently during the time of online classes for kids and the stand-up meetings – at 11 in the morning and 6 in the evening (beginning and end of the day updating the teammates of the tasks in the day). Based on this, the admin can assign the highest priority to Skype, Zoom and Gmail and the lowest priority to Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and so on.
